Time flies and the puppies are now 4 weeks old!
They are growing and developing very well, and fast! We have had a lot of visitors, both future puppy buyers and daddy Greif with his family. We also took some pictures of them and of course cuddled a lot!
Pictures of the puppies at their page.

Last week Nikki did her 3:rd blood track and became Swedish Blood tracking Champion! She did an excellent work and I'm so proud of her accompishments in the forrest! The same week we went to Sundsvall International dog show where WTG Cool Cinnamon 'Aaron' and Excellent Nikki of Perla Afriky 'Nikki' was showed. They both did very well, Aaron became 2:nd in champion class with CQ and ended up as 2:nd best male with his fifth r-CACIB! Nikki won a strong open class and ended up as Best bitch and later on Best in oppostie sex with her final CAC and her first CACIB which made her Swedish Show Champion!!! Two titles in one week, I'm so thrilled!!!

So the puppies have turned one week and what a week...
It all started with Telma's slow labor which ended up with us going to the veterinarian in the middle of the night with eight newborn puppies... Left in her belly was three puppies, one still born and the other two almost lifeless. After rubbing them they came to life but they were very lethargic the first day and I had to support feeding them every two hours. Two days later we found a dermoid sinus (DM) at one female puppy so she was put to sleep. It's alwas sad to make these decisions and it is the bad side of beeing a breeder...
Just a few days after we got back home Telma's cesarean became infected and I had to consider giving antibiotics to her even though she nursed the puppies. Since I've been told that antibiotics could do harm to the puppies I was very worried but at the same time I didn't have any choise, I had to treat her. So we went to the veterinarian again and got some medicine. She recovered soon and so far I haven't noticed any difference at the puppies.
The puppies are growing and they have started to use their legs insted of only crawl! In only a few days they will be able to see and hear.

However this first week ended in a perfect way when we recieved happy news from Emmelie Stenman, owner of SeVch PLCh WTG Milos Belizie 'Felize'. On Tuesday she became mother to a huge litter at Kennel Red Working Ridge. In 7 hours she gave birth to 13 (!!!) puppies! Congratulations and the best of luck to all of you! We are looking forward to follow this litter!

Unfortunately one perfect little girl was stil born and later on we found one DS at another little girl. So far we have 9 puppies left and they all are doing well, as well as mommy Telma.

Today we went to the veterinarian to do the ultrasound and I was very happy to see a bunch of small puppies inside Telmas belly! Today she is on day 32 of pregnancy and it has been a long wait to see if there was anything inside her or if it was a false pregnancy again! Telma is showing all the signs of beeing pregnant and we are so happy and expectant about this litter who finally is underway!

I also have some great news about Greif, the father to be! He's been at a few shows both in Sweden and abroad this summer, with some very nice results! So far he's recieved four Best male placement of which he became Best in opposite sex three times, one of this shows was the Rhodesian Ridgeback World Congress in Sweden. He has also become Best in group-3 and won Best ridge twice and ended up as 10:th Best male in Norway at the Rhodesian Ridgeback World Congress. This golden boy really is amazing, inside and outside!

There's been a lot going on this summer, dog shows, mating and other activities!
We have been entering a couple shows with some very satisfying results. Nikki, our little princess, got her 2nd CAC and became Best in oppostite sex at the same show. Since Telma became Swedish champion earlier this summer we decided to take a break with her in the rings. Besides our own dogs, two of Telma's offspring also rocked the rings! WTG Cool Cinnamon 'Aaron' debuted in champion class and recieved his first r-CACIB and last weekend I had the plesure to show her other son, WTG Cool Chestnut 'Minus', at his 3rd show where he got Exc.2 with some very nice words from the judge.
I'm so happy for this boys, not because of their show results but because of their lovely characters! They are so happy and friendly to everyone they meet and I also know that they are very loving family members.

WTG Cool Cinnamon, Champion class Exc.1, CQ, 2nd best male with r-CACIB

2yrs old, maskuline, good lines, well shaped head, good expression, very good neck and deep of chest, good in body, good width of thigh, could have a bit better angulation in knee, good legs and paws, good shape of ridge but could be a bit longer, powerful in movements but dips a bit in front when moving.
Judge: Per Iversen, Norway

WTG Cool Chestnut, Open class Exc.2
2 yrs old, excellent size and proportions, masculine head with good proportions, excellent neck, topline, crop and hindquarters, very beautiful in line, good legs and paws, ridge a bit short with crown a bit of set, balanced movements all around.
Judge: Jens Myrman, Sweden

This summer we also did what Telma and Nikki loves the most; to run! We participated at the ridgeback race and Nikki even won the race! The weekend after we went to meet Greif and him and Telma successfully mated. Now we cross our fingers for a bunch of puppies in the end of September.

Last weekend we went up north, to Piteå, for this seasons first outdoor show. And we went back home with two new champions!
As usual we stayed at Persson family who's the owner of Telmas son Aason from our winter litter. He was also first up in the ring and he got Exc. 1 and ended up as 2nd best male with CAC which means he got his Swedish Champion title!!! This boy has been something special from the very first start. When he was born it didn't take long until we all thought he had "it" and I was so happy when I realized his owners wanted to show him. In total he has entered six shows to get his title but we're not finnished yet...! :) HUGE congratulations to Morgan and Veronica who has raised such lovely boy!
Next up in line was our little princess Nikki. She got Exc.2 with CQ and became 3rd best bitch with some nice and promising words from the judge. She is a lovely young lady but she is still not fully developed in body so her time will come...
Last but not least Telma was etering the ring. She also got Exc.1 and ended up as Best Bitch and then Best in opposite sex! I was sooo happy when I realized she finally got her last CAC to become Swedish Champion!!! Everyone who knows us know how hard we fought for this title! Now she will be retired as a show dog and we will focus on her next litter this autumn.

Thanks to all our friends and family for all congratulations!

A week before christmas it was time for us to pack or bags and take the car to Finland where Otso was waiting! The funny things, or not(!), about dogs are that they don't alwas do as we plan to and this trip turned out to be exactly what we didn't plan it to be! Telma didn't want to mate with Otso! We tried and tried but it was a big NO NO!
So we decided to bring Otso back with us to celebrate his first Swedish Christmas! ;)
Since I was worried about Telma passing her heat I went to the veterinarian to do the progesterone test, luckily she was way to early so we drove our 500 km back home and waited.... And waited.... And waited...!
Days went by and I was pretty stressed by now because Otso was going home to Finland soon and they didn't want to mate. But suddenly, two days before his trip back home, they mated! No words can describe my relief!!!
This was in the end of December and soon Telma is on day 30. She has started to show some signs of being pregnant so we keep our fingers crossed that it is a bunch of puppies in her belly!

If you are interested in a puppy, don't hesitate to contact us!
